A note from Daniel
Hi. Like a lot of you, I’ve always known there’s so much good happening across England every week, real, local, uplifting stories worth celebrating. I just wished there was one place that brought them all together, somewhere I’d genuinely look forward to opening each morning.
Being an IT guy, I thought, hmm, if I made a good news website what would I even call it, what would the domain be? First search was goodnewsengland.co.uk and I couldn’t believe it was actually available. All these years of the internet and still nobody had wanted it.
So here we are. Still early days, but this is where I come to read the news now, and I really hope you do too!

Will any articles go behind a paywall?
Never. Every news story stays free to read. Good News Supporters fund the stories, they don't lock them away.
Is it a subscription?
No, it's a one-off £30, on the wall for life. Nothing to cancel and you'll never be auto-charged. If you ever want your name taken off the wall, just email hello@goodnewsengland.co.uk and we'll remove it.
What payment methods are accepted?
All major credit and debit cards via Stripe. Your payment details are never stored on our servers.
What is a Founding Supporter?
The first 100 supporters of any town get a permanent gold ★ Founding Supporter badge on their card. One £30 is all it takes, the badge and your wall card are yours for life, with nothing more to do.
Where does my money go?
Into keeping Good News England running and growing, local reporting, fact-checking and editorial, keeping every story free to read, and opening doors for young writers through the Press Box. No ads, no shareholders, no paywall. We're reader-supported.
Can I keep my profile private?
Yes. The default is public, your name on your town's wall, but you can untick "show me publicly" during onboarding, or email hello@goodnewsengland.co.uk anytime and we'll hide it.
