CBSO: Birmingham as proud of its orchestra as football

New research from the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra finds the city is almost as proud of its orchestra as its football teams. A third of residents (32%) name orchestras and concert halls as a source of civic pride, close behind football (38%), and the study finds classical music is as popular with under-35s as with over-55s, ahead of the CBSO in the City festival from 27 to 31 August.

Parkinson's Steppers: a Leeds class where movement makes music

Parkinson's Steppers is a new movement and wellbeing class for people living with Parkinson's and their carers, launching in Leeds this June. Created by artist-led organisation Harmony in Motion, it uses wearable technology that makes sounds as you move, so each session is creative, active and social.
